COSMIC MESSAGE
The Elephant's Trunk Nebula, also known as vdB 142, winds through the IC 1396 complex in the constellation Cepheus. This cosmic trunk is over 20 light-years long. Narrowband filters captured the light from ionized hydrogen, sulfur, and oxygen atoms, highlighting the bright, swept-back ridges where new stars are forming.
