The large spiral galaxy NGC 4945 is seen edge-on in this cosmic portrait. It is nearly the size of our Milky Way Galaxy. NGC 4945's dusty disk, young blue star clusters, and pink star-forming regions stand out. It is about 13 million light-years distant in the southern constellation Centaurus, making it about six times farther than Andromeda.
