Stars are forming in Lynds Dark Nebula 1251, a dusty molecular cloud about 1,000 light-years away. This image shows reddish glows from Herbig-Haro objects, which are energetic shocks and outflows associated with newborn stars. The nebula is part of a larger complex toward the Cepheus flare region.
