COSMIC MESSAGE
The Milky Way, our home galaxy, appears as a faint band of light across the night sky. This image shows its luminous trail, made up of billions of distant stars. Dark lanes within the band are obscuring clouds of interstellar dust. Galileo was one of the first to observe the Milky Way through a telescope, revealing its true nature as a collection of stars.
