COSMIC MESSAGE

The Trifid Nebula, also known as Messier 20, is an active star-forming region in Sagittarius, about 5,000 light-years away. It shares this cosmic field with the open star cluster Messier 21. The nebula is trisected by dark dust lanes and is only about 300,000 years old, making it one of the youngest star nurseries we observe.
