Dark Molecular Cloud Barnard 68
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Barnard 68 is a dark molecular cloud in Ophiuchus, about four hundred light years away. It is a place where dust and molecular gas are so dense they absorb almost all the visible light from background stars. This makes the cloud's interior one of the coldest and most isolated places in the universe. We see it as a hole in the sky, but it is actually a stellar nursery.
