This shadowy Plutonian landscape was captured by NASA's New Horizons spacecraft in 2015, 15 minutes after its closest approach to Pluto. The image looks back toward the dwarf planet from 18,000 kilometers away. It shows rugged mountains, Norgay Montes and Hillary Montes, giving way to the smooth plains of Sputnik Planum.
