COSMIC MESSAGE
Auroras usually happen high above the clouds, but here they glow above them. They are created when fast-moving particles from the Sun hit Earth's magnetosphere. These particles then spiral along magnetic fields to strike atoms in the atmosphere, making them glow green, typically around 100 kilometers up.
