Red Crepuscular Rays from an Eclipse
NASA APOD · Fefo Bouvier
COSMIC MESSAGE
Red crepuscular rays are seen here behind an island, originating from the Sun. This phenomenon occurred during a partial solar eclipse late last month. The Sun's rays shine brightly through gaps in clouds below the horizon. Their red color is likely due to a high concentration of aerosols in Earth's atmosphere scattering blue light away.
