COSMIC MESSAGE
NGC 1333 is a reflection nebula about 1,000 light-years away in the constellation Perseus. It is a region where new stars are forming, illuminated by the light of nearby young stars. The blue hues come from starlight reflecting off interstellar dust. The red emission is from hydrogen gas excited by intense ultraviolet radiation.
