COSMIC MESSAGE
The annual Perseid meteor shower peaked on August 13. Even the nearly full moon couldn't hide all the meteor streaks from this popular shower. This composite image captures some of the brightest Perseid meteors in many short exposures recorded over two hours. Earth crossed through streams of debris left by Comet Swift-Tuttle, causing the meteors to rain in northern summer night skies.
