COSMIC MESSAGE
NGC 1097 is a spiral galaxy about 45 million light-years away in the constellation Fornax. Its blue spiral arms are dotted with pink star-forming regions. The galaxy appears to have wrapped around a smaller companion galaxy, visible above and to the right of the core.
