The Horsehead Nebula, also known as Barnard 33, is a dark cloud of dust silhouetted against a glowing background. This five-light-year-tall structure is part of a large molecular cloud complex in Orion, about 1,500 light-years away. Bright Alnitak, one of Orion's belt stars, is nearby.
