NGC 7023: The Iris Nebula

COSMIC MESSAGE

These cosmic clouds, known as the Iris Nebula, sit 1,300 light-years away in the constellation Cepheus. This deep image shows the nebula's colors and symmetries, surrounded by interstellar dust. Inside the Iris, dusty material encircles a hot, young star. The brighter reflection nebula is primarily blue, reflecting light from this star.
