The Clipper and the Comet

NASA's Europa Clipper spacecraft, bound for an ocean world, sits atop a Falcon Heavy rocket at Kennedy Space Center. This image was taken the day before its successful October 14 launch. The Clipper's journey will use gravity assists from Mars and Earth before reaching Jupiter in 2030. Once in orbit around Jupiter, it will study Europa, a moon believed to harbor a subsurface ocean.
