COSMIC MESSAGE
Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, captured here after its closest approach to Earth, stretches across 26 degrees of the evening sky. This two-frame telephoto mosaic from Gates Pass, Arizona, nearly captures the comet's full expanse. Observers could also spot globular cluster M5 and periodic comet 13P Olbers nearby. The comet's long path across the sky made it a challenging but rewarding target.
