Messier 2

Messier 2 is a giant globular star cluster, the second entry in Charles Messier's catalog of objects not to be confused with comets. Though Messier originally described it as a nebula without stars, the Hubble Space Telescope resolves nearly 150,000 stars across the cluster's central 40 light-years. M2 is one of the largest globular clusters known to roam the halo of our Milky Way galaxy.
