Hickson 44 is a group of four galaxies about 100 million light-years away in the constellation Leo. Paul Hickson and his colleagues identified these compact galaxy groups. The two central spirals, NGC 3190 and NGC 3187, are interacting gravitationally. This image shows foreground stars from our own Milky Way.
