International Space Station Crosses the Sun
NASA APOD · Pau Montplet Sanz
COSMIC MESSAGE
The International Space Station usually appears as a bright spot in the night sky, visible just after sunset or before sunrise. It shines by reflected sunlight, so it disappears when it enters Earth's shadow. However, on rare occasions, it can be seen crossing the Sun during the day. This creates a dramatic silhouette, a tiny dark speck against the bright solar disk.
