See it on NASA's siteLynds Dark Nebula 1251, also known as 'The Rotten Fish Nebula,' is a cold, dusty molecular cloud about 1,000 light-years away, drifting above the plane of our Milky Way. It is a region where new stars are actively forming. Astronomical observations in various wavelengths reveal energetic shocks and outflows associated with these newborn stars, including the reddish glow of hydrogen gas.
