A Solar Eruption from SDO
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
A towering structure of solar plasma erupts from the Sun's surface, unfurling into space. This dramatic Coronal Mass Ejection, or CME, was captured by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, or SDO, in late 2024. The event was so large that many Earths could easily fit within it. SDO's continuous monitoring helps us understand how solar activity affects satellites and GPS.
