Catching Falling Stardust

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

This tiny track, just five hundredths of an inch long, shows a micrometeoroid's path through a gel. The gel was exposed to space by the EURECA spacecraft. The meteoroid itself, only a thousandth of an inch wide, rests at the track's tip. Such interplanetary dust particles are often bits of comets.
