COSMIC MESSAGE
Jupiter has rings, too, though they are much fainter than Saturn's. These infrared images, taken by the Infrared Telescope Facility in Hawaii in 1994, show Jupiter's rings, bands, and atmospheric spots. Unlike Saturn's icy rings, Jupiter's are made of fine rock particles. Also visible are two small Jovian moons, Metis and Adrastea, orbiting within the ring system.
