The Hubble Space Telescope, seen here from the Space Shuttle Discovery, has been exploring the universe since 1990. This image was taken during a 1999 servicing mission to install new gyroscopes and a faster computer. The telescope has delivered hundreds of thousands of images, deepening our understanding of everything from our own solar system to distant galaxies. It orbits about 340 miles above Earth, completing an orbit every 95 minutes.
