Reflection Nebula M78

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

M78 is a bright reflection nebula in Orion, about 1,600 light-years from Earth. It's five light-years across, glowing with an eerie blue light from several recently formed stars. The dust within the nebula not only absorbs light but also reflects it, and the scattering of light enhances its blue color, similar to how our daytime sky appears blue.
