COSMIC MESSAGE
On this day in 2000, all five naked-eye planets, the Moon, and the Sun aligned within 26 degrees in the sky. This was the closest alignment of these celestial bodies since February 1962. While not dangerous, it offered a unique opportunity to appreciate the solar system's arrangement. Looking directly at the Sun, however, would have been harmful to the eyes.
