COSMIC MESSAGE
The Horsehead Nebula, in Orion, is a famous dark nebula. It appears as a black indentation against a red emission nebula, seen to the right of center in the photograph. The dark shape is actually an opaque dust cloud lying in front of the bright, glowing gas. Like clouds in Earth's atmosphere, this cosmic cloud has taken on a recognizable shape.
