The Fornax Cluster of Galaxies

COSMIC MESSAGE

The Fornax Cluster is one of the closest galaxy clusters, about 62 million light-years away. Almost every yellowish splotch in this two-degree wide field is an elliptical galaxy belonging to the cluster. It is named for the southern constellation where most of its galaxies are found.
