A Galaxy is not a Comet

NASA APOD · Juan Carlos Casado
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Andromeda Galaxy and Comet Ikeya-Zhang appeared together in the skies over the Pyrenees. This image captures the predicted conjunction of the distant galaxy and the much closer comet. The Andromeda Galaxy is our nearest large galactic neighbor, while the comet was a temporary visitor to our inner solar system. Charles Messier, an 18th-century comet hunter, would have appreciated such a view.
