The Old Moon in the New Moon's Arms
NASA APOD · Laurent Laveder
COSMIC MESSAGE
Earthshine is Earthlight reflected from the Moon's night side. This image of Earthshine and a young crescent Moon was taken by astrophotographer Laurent Laveder from the Pic du Midi Observatory. From the Moon, when it appears as a slender crescent in Earth's sky, a dazzlingly bright, nearly full Earth would be seen.
