A Spherule from Outer Space
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
When meteorites hit the Moon, some of the melted rock can cool into tiny glass beads. Apollo missions brought back many such spherules in lunar soil samples. This image shows one, only a quarter of a millimeter across. It has a miniature crater on its upper left, evidence of an even smaller impact.
