NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Dumbbell Nebula, also known as M27, is a planetary nebula about 1,200 light-years away. The Hubble Space Telescope captured this image, revealing unusual knots of gas and dust. These knots have been seen in other planetary nebulae, but their cause is not yet well understood. Many bright young stars and dark sheets of interstellar dust are also visible.
