Comet NEAT Approaches the Sun

NASA APOD · Anton Spenko (Rezmon Observatory)
COSMIC MESSAGE

Comet NEAT, discovered last November, has brightened dramatically as it approaches the Sun. It may become visible to the unaided eye over the next few days, just above the horizon after sunset. On February 18, it will pass well within the orbit of Mercury. During those days, the Sun's glare will hide the comet from human observers.
