Dark Sky, Bright Sun

In low Earth orbit, without an atmosphere to scatter sunlight, shadows are stark and the sky is dark, even with the Sun shining. This dramatic lighting effect is seen as astronaut Gregory Harbaugh photographed Joseph Tanner during a spacewalk to service the Hubble Space Telescope.
