COSMIC MESSAGE
On May 31, 2003, an annular solar eclipse created a "ring of fire" visible across parts of the northern hemisphere. The Moon's apparent diameter was slightly too small to fully obscure the Sun, leaving a bright solar ring around its silhouette. This celestial geometry produced a broad, D-shaped viewing region for the annular phase.
