“A Rare Annular Venusian Solar Eclipse” is copyrighted by : Peter Lawrence. NASA has permission to show it and we don't, so it isn't on this card.
See it on NASA's siteIn 2004, Venus crossed the face of the Sun, creating a rare annular solar eclipse. For the first time in over a century, Venus, not Earth's Moon, caused this transit. As Venus aligned perfectly with the Sun, its phase became a thin crescent, then a dark spot. This event allowed astronomers to study Venus's atmosphere and refine our understanding of planetary transits.
