A Picturesque Venus Transit

NASA APOD · David Cortner
COSMIC MESSAGE

The rare transit of Venus across the Sun earlier this month was extensively photographed. Both scientific and artistic images poured in from Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. Scientists confirmed that the "black drop effect" is more related to camera clarity than Venus's atmosphere. This event provided a wealth of data and stunning visuals.
