Storm Alley on Saturn

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Cassini spacecraft inspected a circulating band of clouds nicknamed "Storm Alley" to understand Saturn's storms. This westward-moving cloud ring has been unusually active since early 2004. It spawns white swirling storms and dark storms ringed by sprawling white clouds, all cascading around the gas giant. Cassini imaged this rogue band and other parts of southern Saturn in specific infrared light.
