A Great White Spot on Rhea
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
This great white spot on Saturn's moon Rhea was first noticed by the Cassini spacecraft. Cassini's flyby in April imaged the spot in detail. Astronomers hypothesize this light-colored area is from a recent impact. The impact likely created the crater and splashed lighter material from the moon's interior onto its darker surface. Rhea spans 1,500 kilometers.
