Young Suns of NGC 7129
NASA APOD · Robert Gendler
COSMIC MESSAGE
NGC 7129, located about 3,000 light-years away in Cepheus, is a stellar nursery where young stars are still forming. These stars are only about a million years old, a tender age in cosmic terms. The image shows bluish dust clouds reflecting the light from these youthful stars. Smaller, deep red crescent shapes in the image are also indicators of energetic, young stellar objects. Our own Sun likely formed in a similar environment billions of years ago.
