COSMIC MESSAGE

The Moon's appearance changes nightly over a lunation, a full lunar cycle. As it orbits Earth, the sunlit portion becomes more, then less, visible. The Moon always shows the same face to Earth, but its apparent size shifts slightly. A wobble called libration is also visible as it moves along its elliptical orbit.
