Simeis 147 is a faint supernova remnant with intricate filaments. It is seen towards the constellation Taurus and covers nearly three degrees on the sky. This corresponds to a width of 150 light-years at its estimated distance of 3,000 light-years. The image is a color composite of 66 blue and red exposures from the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey.
