A Spherule from the Earth's Moon

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

When a meteorite hits the Moon, the impact can melt rock into tiny glass beads called spherules. This one, only a quarter of a millimeter across, was collected by the Apollo missions. It's special because it shows evidence of an even smaller impact on its surface. These tiny cosmic marbles tell us about the Moon's history of impacts.
