X-ray Stars of Orion

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The stars of Orion shine brightly in visible light, but this image shows them in X-ray from the Chandra telescope. The Great Nebula of Orion, a stellar nursery, is about 1,500 light-years away. The bright clump of stars near the center are the massive stars of the Trapezium, which power much of the nebula's visible-light glow. The blue and orange stars are young, sun-like stars.
