Hidden Galaxy IC 342 from Kitt Peak

NASA APOD · T. Rector
COSMIC MESSAGE

The spiral galaxy IC 342 is a large, bright galaxy, similar in size to our own Milky Way. It's only 7 million light-years away in the constellation Camelopardalis, the Giraffe. However, it's difficult to observe because it lies behind the dust and stars of our galaxy's plane, which dims its light.
