COSMIC MESSAGE
Thor's Helmet, or NGC 2359, is a hat-shaped cosmic cloud about 30 light-years across. This interstellar bubble is inflated by a fast wind from a bright, massive Wolf-Rayet star at its center. The central star is extremely hot and is thought to be in a brief, pre-supernova phase of its evolution. The nebula is located about 15,000 light-years away in the constellation Canis Major.
