COSMIC MESSAGE
Within the cosmic cloud NGC 281, the stars of open cluster IC 1590 are almost missed. These young, massive stars, formed within the nebula, power its pervasive glow. Intense winds and radiation from the hot cluster stars sculpt the eye-catching columns and dense dust globules, visible in silhouette. These dusty structures could eventually form new stars if they survive long enough.
