Martian Sunset

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

This serene Martian sunset was captured by the Spirit rover in 2005. The Mars Exploration Rovers celebrated their fifth anniversary of operations on the Red Planet this month. While colors in the image are slightly enhanced, a human explorer would likely see a similar reddish sky. Fine dust particles in Mars's thin atmosphere scatter blue light, causing the sky to appear reddish.
