The Great Carina Nebula, NGC 3372, is one of the largest star-forming regions in our galaxy, spanning over 300 light-years. It is about 7,500 light-years away, five times farther than the Orion Nebula. This image from the ESO/MPG 2.2-meter telescope shows the glowing filaments of gas.
