Stardust in Perseus

NASA APOD · Máximo Ruiz
COSMIC MESSAGE

This cosmic expanse in the constellation Perseus spans nearly three degrees of the sky. Right of center is the dusty blue reflection nebula NGC 1333, about 1,000 light-years away. Next to it, the reddish glow of shocked hydrogen gas indicates new stars are forming. The entire field of view is about 50 light-years across.
